Alasdair Rae

Alasdair is an urban and regional analyst with expertise in spatial analysis, GIS, neighbourhoods, housing markets, land use, transport, commuting, quantitative data analysis, internet search data and geovisualization.

He has worked with a wide range of public and private sector clients, including Rightmove plc, Google, the BBC, the Bank of England, the Nuffield Foundation, and mySociety.  His work regularly features in the national and international media and he has acted as a consultant (on and off screen) on several TV programmes, including Channel 4’s ‘The UK’s Best Place to Live’.

He has a PhD in urban and regional policy from the University of Liverpool (2007), an MA from The Ohio State University (2003), and a BA (Hons) from the University of Strathclyde (2001).
