Chart of the Week
This week HMLR published the latest house price index. It showed London was the only region/country to record a fall in prices in the year to November 2024 (-0.1%). We’ve highlighted the regional variation regularly including in our recent review of the housing market in 2024. However, there is substantial variation within London, with the index reporting bigger falls in Inner London (-5.2%) and price rises in Outer London (+3.2%). It is also not clear how much these figures are being affected by the Land Reg lag and may be revised in the future – especially in lower volume markets in central London.
